2022 Advent Bible Study

“Come and See” - Led by Pastor Hyun Ho (Peter) Park

INTRODUCTION

In this year’s Advent Bible study, which will be provided in two formats—one in-person and the other via Zoom—we will study passages from Matthew’s Gospel (this year’s Gospel reading from the lectionary) and think about the meaning of Advent (cf. “coming” of the Messiah). The theme of this Bible study is “Come and See.” Christian gospel constantly invites us to “come”—follow Jesus—and “see” what is going to happen. Yet, sometimes, if not most times, there is dissonance between what we expect and what we experience. We will explore what is underneath our expectations and implore God to change not only our views but also our visions and values.

*No textbook is required but your reflections and responses to each week’s text and main question are most welcome.
