Visual Arts

Visual Arts appear often at First United Methodist Church of Santa Rosa.  They include:

  • Worship Art - art included in the worship service, such as the building of a scene at the front of the chancel where artists enter the sanctuary and bring their artistic offerings.
  • Art Shows - Several times a year, we hold an art show where we invite members and friends to display their artistic creations for enjoyment by the congregation.  Art at past shows has included paintings, photography, sculpture, woodworking, glass blowing, and more.
  • Campus Displays - We often display art created by our members and friends on bulletin boards, easels, and other venues around our two campuses.
  • Montgomery Gallery - In 2011 CAMAB (Creative Arts Ministry Advisory Board) renovated a fairly unused hallway and converted it into a now-popular Art Gallery.  Shows of various types revolve thru the gallery throughout the year.  We've featured individual artists, community art projects, themed shows, and medium-focused exhibits.  For further details, or to have your art be considered for display in the gallery, contact Doug Albertson.
