Pastor Blake Busick has a new assignment

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I greet you in the name of our Lord Christ Jesus.   Our Bishop, Minerva G. Carcaño joins me in extending greetings of love and support to you.    Over the past months this Christian community has witnessed to the power of God’s love as you have moved through difficult days together.    You are all an inspiration and a witness to the healing power of God and to the strength of our United Methodist connection.  More than that, you have illuminated what it means to be Christian Community for many in the Church and beyond.

It is in the sure knowledge of  this strength and the power of the Holy Spirit that I write to let you know that it is the intention of Bishop Carcaño to appoint your Senior Pastor, Rev. Blake Busick as the Superintendent of the Great Northern District, effective July 1, 2018.

I don’t need to tell you of the many gifts and graces that Pastor Blake will bring to his new work on the Cabinet.   You have experienced them and witnessed them first hand.   I know.   It is never easy to say good-bye to a beloved Pastor such as Rev. Busick.  Yet I am confident that you will move in the rhythms of grace into this time of transition and change.

In the coming weeks I will be meeting with your Staff-Parish Relations Committee to think and pray, not only about the transition to come, but also about the vision and needs of 1st United Methodist Church as you begin to navigate the waters of a faithful future.

As your Superintendent, I want to share that this community has the full support of Bishop Carcaño and the Cabinet as we begin to discern the Pastor who will come next to be among you as a servant leader.

Thanking you for your faithfulness and excited for the future you will build with God’s grace,  I am,

Yours in Christ,

Schuyler Rhodes
