Originally from the Bay Area, Mary earned a Business/Marketing degree from the University of the Pacific with a minor in Latin American studies. After many years on the East Coast, she and her family returned to California in 1998.
Mary began her marketing career on the Boston Stock Exchange and then on to McGraw Hill as a marketing manager for a financial publication located in Charlottesville, Virginia. After a hiatus as a stay-at-home-mom to three children, Mary went to work using her Spanish language skills: first as a tutor, then as an interpreter at Santa Rosa City School District, and lastly as a bilingual insurance associate before she began her work at FUMC in 2010. Mary is a member of the National Association of Church Business Administrators and has begun her program work with the National Institute of Church Financial Administrators certification process.
In her role as the Business Administrator, Mary manages most areas of the church operations. She works with the Finance committee to oversee finances, and works with the Board of Trustees to maintain the multisite facility. She provides support for the ministerial staff and uses her network of local contacts to establish community partnerships in Sonoma County. Mary is often the first person you will see when you stop by the church office, so come by and say hello!
In her spare time, Mary enjoys traveling, crossword puzzles, reading and writing. She and her husband eagerly anticipate the empty nest as their three grown children fly away.
