First United Methodist Church of Santa Rosa

Sunday, October 22, 2017

Meeting called to order by Trey McAlister at 12:35pm. Opening prayer offered by Pastor Blake.

This was a special meeting to discuss the following two items:

1.To approve conversion of the Susanna Wesley House into a Parsonage for the Busick family to use while their home is being rebuilt; and

2.               To assign a task force to pursue possible uses of the Stony Point property during the fire recovery phase.

Susanna Wesley House

Bob Young approved the motion to discuss converting the Susanna Wesley House into a temporary parsonage; Bob Cheal seconded the motion. Discussion ensued, including concern about possible permits needed for the conversion as well as impact on the pre-school and their access to the washer/dryer throughout the day.

A handout was provided showing the existing footprint of the House and the expected modifications to the House, as well as the expected costs of the conversion. Costs will be incurred by the Trustees.

Consensus was reached to move forward with the conversion process.

Recovery Task Force

Consensus was reached to put a task force in place to study uses of the Stony Point property as a possible place of temporary housing for the fire victims. Bob Young will head the task force. See attachment for list of task force members.

Closing prayer offered by Pastor Lindsey. Meeting adjourned at 1:15pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Anne Sekara
